Where can i donate my garfield collection?

I started collecting in the 3rd grade, I am now 25 but my dad still buys me Garfield stuff as gifts. I tried to tell him that I collect kitchen aide accessories now ;o) but that didn't work to stop him from collecting more Garfield for me. Most of the collection is in boxes and I don't have any place to display them (as I am married and have a small apartment). I don't wish to sell them, since it's from my dad and I still like my collection, so I was thinking to donate it to a museum. Therefore, I can still honor my dad with the collection and maybe he will get the hint to stop collecting for me. So please if anyone can let me know how I could donate to a museum, what the process is or where I could donate that would be wonderful, thank you.
